Alumni meet up in Istanbul

More than 30 Kingston alumni joined KU Talent's career consultant Helen Green for drinks at the fantastic Marmara Pera hotel in Taksim Square. It may have been raining outside but it didn't affect the mood inside the hotel as Kingston alums mingled over drinks, catching up with ex-classmates and making new friends.
Recent alumna Nazli Kurt, Production Design for Film and TV MA 2012, is now a set designer at local TV channel NTV, she said: "I really enjoyed meeting fellow alumni and making new connections in Istanbul – it was a lovely evening."
At the event Nazli met a current Communication Design MA student, Nazli Oluz, who had come along during her Easter break to make friends and connections, which will be a helpful resource for her upcoming job search.
Aysegul Akciner, International Business Management MSc 2010, was also at the event, she said: "My experience at Kingston was very positive, Kingston opened up my view of the world. I learnt how to work in international teams, I became a stronger person and more determined to succeed in my career." Aysegul is now working in commercial banking at ING Bank, was able to give advice, during the evening, to recent graduates.
Mustafa Ozbay, chief auditor for the Istanbul Stock Exchange (Borsa Istanbul) was also at the event meeting fellow alums and offering his support to recent graduates.
Alumni were thrilled to hear that there was a bigger alumni event planned for the autumn in Istanbul.
