Reviewed in The New Yorker and featured on BBC Radio 4's Front Row and Open Book programmes, the book has now been shortlisted for the prestigious Women's Prize for Fiction. Described as a 'morbidly funny slashfest' and 'feminist noir', the book is up against a strong field including Milkman by Anna Burns, Circe by Madeline Miller and The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker.
Oyinkan was also a finalist for the Commonwealth Short Story Award in 2016.
Liam said, 'I didn't win, but just having a novel about a cross dressing gay man looking for love in the 90s felt like something good.'
