Kingston Business School launches its MBA Alumni Network in London

Posted Thursday 1 November 2018

Kingston University MBA alumni and students celebrated the launch of the new MBA Alumni Network at The Balcony Room at the Swan, Shakespeare's Globe, with stunning views of the Thames and St Paul's on London's Southbank.

The event, which took place on Thursday 19 July, was attended by more than 100 alumni and students, some of whom graduated from their MBA in the early 1990s, and other more recent graduates, of both the Executive and full time MBA programme.

MBA alumnus Mike Dobby, Partner Vice Chairman at Deloitte spoke to those gathered on the importance of his own networks to his career. "Building sustainable relationships that support and nurture talent also helps those individuals who share their skills, experience and knowledge with others," Mike said.

The focus of the event was to announce the new online alumni platform, Kingston Connect, which is being developed to facilitate the MBA Alumni Network international reach. "The wealth of knowledge and diversity of our alumni from the past 30 years of delivering the Kingston MBA programme across the world creates an enriching and empowering network of which we are sure our alumni will want to be a part," Faculty Alumni Officer, Eleanor Luker said.

"Kingston Connect will be a useful tool for our MBA alumni, no matter where they are in the world, to be able to tap into a network of people with a common Kingston connection and an extensive range of industry experience.'

Kingston Connect enables MBA alumni access to an exclusive online community to promote their business opportunities, cultivate a network of well-connected MBA graduates, exchange expert advice, and find out about MBA specific events and news from Kingston where they can:

The launch event coincided with ‘International Fortnight', where MBA students from our Russian Partner institution RANEPA (alongside visiting students from China) had visited Kingston to study elective modules. It was fantastic to bring together students from the Russian and UK programmes and demonstrate the truly international nature of the MBA programme.

The Kingston MBA has been accredited by the Association of MBAs for over 30 years and has recently been was re-accredited for a further 5 years in October 2017.

The Kingston MBA also recently featured in the Sunday Times MBA List 2018, with Kingston alumnus Declan Burke taking centre stage.
