Kingston University alumni share memories and experiences at London drinks reception

Posted Friday 2 March 2018

Kingston University welcomed more than 80 alumni at The George pub on The Strand in central London last week. Alumni from 1978 through to 2017 met with old friends and made new connections at the informal drinks reception.

"It was an excellent and welcoming event," MBA alumnus Tom Morrell said. "There was such a rich mixture of professional alumni to meet and get to know. I highly recommend these events to any alumni who wish to increase their network and continued learning." Tom graduated from Kingston University in 2004, and is currently a specialist in employee well-being and engagement.

As well as getting to know fellow alumni, attendees were interested to hear more about some of the ways they can get involved with the University, from mentoring and guest speaking to attending professional development masterclasses and business seminars.

"As a new graduate from the Class of 2017, this was the first alumni event I was invited to," Katy Portell, who studied MA Public Relations & Corporate Communications, said.

"I was pleasantly surprised to reconnect with some of my classmates who I hadn't seen since the course ended and we caught up on where we are in our lives and careers. These events are a great way to stay connected with the Kingston University community and network."

Katy graduated in January 2017, and is now the Organ Donation Ambassador Co-ordinator for NHS Blood & Transplant.

We hope to have these events more often, so make sure you're signed up to our mailing list to be the first to hear.
