Kingston Business School has been ranked among the 33 best full-time MBA programmes in the United Kingdom in the QS Global Business Schools Report. The school is listed as a ‘superior' business school for employability and research and is also placed among the 38 best business schools in the UK, Ireland and the Nordic Countries region.
The QS report is based on a survey of more than 12,000 international MBA employers, who were asked to select the schools they consider most attractive for hiring MBA graduates from. The QS Intelligence Unit also carried out a five-year survey of 76,798 academics from all over the world - the largest survey of academics conducted - asking them which institutions they considered excellent for research. The results from both the employers and academics were combined to produce the final ranking.
Dean of the Business School, Professor Ron Tuninga, said Kingston Business School's performance in the QS Global Business Schools rankings reflects its leading business research and strong international links with major firms. "Our courses are very good at combining theory and practice, with a number of projects as part of the MBA programme that link directly to practical work in the business community," he said. "This equips students very well with the skills they need for industry and brings them into contact with major firms during their studies, which definitely enhances their careers."
Professor Tuninga added that the school is very active in conducting real-world business research, which strengthens the MBA programme for students.
The QS report also highlights the average GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) score for each of the 250 global universities, which is the average scores of students admitted for each institution. It ranks Kingston Business School as number 23 in Europe - with a GMAT score of 654 - placing it above Durham Business School and Imperial College Business School, both in the United Kingdom.
In the category of International Student Proportions, Kingston Business School is in the company of IAE Aix Graduate School of Management in France, Cranfield School of Management in England, and Trinity Business School in Dublin, with international students making up 50-74 per cent of the school's MBA programmes. This enables students to study in a truly international environment, increasing understanding of today's business world.
The recognition in the QS Global Business Schools Report follows hot on the heels of Kingston Business School joining an elite group of institutions awarded prestigious international accreditation by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). A hallmark of excellence in business education, the accreditation has been earned by just five per cent of the world's business schools.
