Kingston recently welcomed back the computer science class of 1984, who celebrated their 30 year anniversary of graduating from Kingston Polytechnic.
The event was well attended with guests taking a tour of the Penrhyn Road campus to see just how much things had changed in 30 years! They then spent the evening catching up with old friends at the students' union Space Bar.
Keith Malcom was one of the alumni. He was very impressed by the vast lecture theatre that can hold 200 students, each with their own computer station, and the huge projection screen that's also used in lecturers.
He said: "It's very different to our day, where probably 30-odd people might turn up for a lecture."
Keith is now self-employed providing outsourced accounts and payroll services.
The alumni were asked to bring along some photographic memories of Kingston, which can be seen in the photo gallery, along with photos taken at the event.
Keith took this one step further, bringing along a video project the class were asked to do to depict the power of advertising during the era of Adam and the Ants. The video featured Keith himself, Judy Smale, Nicky Atkins, Georgina Persson, Annette O'Hare and Graham Coppard.
You can see the video on our Facebook page.
Giving thanks after the event was Kirit Patel, one of the main organisers of the reunion: "It was great to see Marc and David travelling all the way from Zimbabwe and USA to make the event and also Mr Lovett, Mr Powell-Evans and Mr Newell.
It was also fantastic to see everyone after such a long time bringing back fond memories of our time at Kingston."
Kirit is currently lead project manager and Portfolio Manager at the Home Office.
