Varsity 2013

Posted Friday 16 August 2013

Varsity is the day that teams of Kingston Cougars take on Surrey Stags in 27 different sports; from rugby and cheerleading to canoe polo! There is also a tug-of-war that takes place at the end of the day.

Kingston Cougars are the current holders of the tug-of-war cup. We have never lost. We expect to take the trophy home again this year, so you better start training!

Varsity is the biggest and most anticipated event of the year for Kingston Cougars, but it is not only for Cougars. Everyone is welcome to come along and support their friends and fellow students in the battle against rivals Surrey University; let's try and outnumber Surrey on their own turf!

Matches take place across the day so there is always a team to watch and shout support at. Sports events finish in the sports hall with dance and cheerleading, who doesn't want to watch people being hurled high into the air and then (hopefully) caught again?
