William Plunkett was an outstanding and influential designer who studied sculpture and furniture at Kingston School of Art in the late 1950s.
In the main his furniture was designed for commercial premises and graced many prestigious business headquarters and examples of his work are installed in a bar of the QE2. His modernist furniture won many design awards and his 'Kingston' range is still in production today. Plunkett firmly believed that well designed products "could make a difference to Britain".
At Kingston, Plunkett was tutored by Aidron Duckworth who subsequently employed him for a brief time before Plunkett set up his own company in Croydon.
