Kingston University graduate Genevieve Bent reflects on Clearing call that propelled her to career success and an MBE

A Kingston University forensic chemistry graduate, who secured a degree place through Clearing, still has vivid memories of making the call that set her on the path to a career that has recently seen her awarded an MBE. Little did Genevieve Bent imagine when she picked up the phone to call Kingston University's Clearing hotline 15 years ago she would one day receive an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours. That is exactly what has happened though, with the announcement of the award in June seeing her recognised for her services to education.

Work to promote diversity and address inequalities in higher education sees Kingston University academic awarded National Teaching Fellowship

An academic expert from Kingston University has been awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship for his work enhancing and transforming student outcomes and the teaching profession. Associate Professor of Biosciences Dr Nigel Page is one of 55 academics from across the UK to receive the coveted accolade this year. The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme, run by Advance HE, celebrates and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and higher education teaching more broadly. It is one of the UK's most sought after awards for excellence in teaching and learning.

Academic honoured for exceptional service with prestigious award from Royal Society of Chemistry

An academic expert from Kingston University has been honoured with a prestigious award for exceptional service from the Royal Society of Chemistry, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the organisation as a volunteer in the field of chemistry. Dr Baljit Thatti, the University's Head of Department for Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, was selected for the annual award, which recognises volunteers who have made a personal impact by contributing to the Society through a variety of voluntary roles.
