Entry requirements for China
Language requirements
All students from outside the United Kingdom need to meet our English language requirements. These depend on whether you are applying for pre-degree, undergraduate or postgraduate level.
Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
If you don't achieve the required score, you may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.
Academic requirements

| Foundation course | High School Diploma |
| Undergraduate | Completion of one year of an undergraduate programme in China Recognised foundation course in China or the UK A-levels or International Baccalaureate |
| Pre-masters | Recognised first degree (A - C / 60% +) programmes or Graduate Diploma (Da Zhuan) |
| Postgraduate taught masters | A good undergraduate degree |
| Postgraduate research | Postgraduate masters degree or a good undergraduate degree in a relevant subject |
- Additionally, a portfolio of artwork is required for art and design courses, including the Foundation Diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
- Applications are considered on an individual basis and other qualifications/work experience may be taken into consideration.
