The Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment has an established culture of research across the disciplines of Engineering, Geography, Surveying and Computing.
Research within the faculty is valued, encouraged and supported; undertaking research is an integral part of academic life here. Many of our academics have extensive networks nationally and internationally, which offer opportunities for collaborative working and access to a wide range of resources and expertise.
Our collaborative and multidisciplinary research is supported by strong links with industry and funding from a range of sources including the European Commission, UK research councils, charities and multinational corporations.
We offer three degree options - MSc by Research, MPhil and PhD degrees - potentially available in every Research Centre and subject area.
