Our History is Your History: Understanding a history of LGBTQ+ discrimination and the impact on older LGBTQ+ health, housing and social care.

Research shows that older LGBTQ+ people do not access services as early or as regularly as their heterosexual peers, yet they often have more need of services and support due to family estrangement. They also live more solitary lives than their heterosexual peers and many do not feel safe to engage fully with their local communities because of rejection by local communities in the past.

Coinciding with LGBTQ+ History Month, this 90 minute webinar, led by older LGBTQ+ trainers, explains the decades of discrimination that lie behind many older LGBTQ+'s reluctance to engage with services and how everyone, young and old, gay and straight, can better advocate for social change.
