Researching Technology Enhanced Learning: An Invitation for research collaboration

The purpose of this seminar is to gather interest for collaboration on a number of TEL projects that are being planned from September 2019. The seminar is primarily intended for colleagues interested in doing research that builds on the synergy of computer science and learning science, also known as Technology Enhanced Learning. The research topics include but are not limited to:  Learning Analytics, Learning Design, Open Educational Resources, Dialogue Games, HCI design, VLE etc.

There are 3 separate strands for the proposed research collaboration. Each strand is at a different stage of maturation.

Research strand 1: Redevelopment and extension of the Learning Design software tool called Pedagogical Pattern Composer (PPC), this software has been in use for 6 years on the Online PG course led by Dejan. - PPC: tinyurl.com/ppcatkul

Research strand 2: Development of the Learning Analytics models to capitalise on the the well articulated metadata model describing the teaching intent (i.e. lesson plans) produced by the systematic development of learning designs with the PPC software (see above).

Research strand 3: Development of the Dialogue Games application using Twitter as as the back-end. The idea is based on a successful but now defunct Interloc dialogue games software (Java Web Start application).
