Self-care skills study day for mammographers and similar specialists

Learn how to use your body's natural design to release aches and pains from practicing medical imaging and gain mental clarity to provide better care.

Practicing mammographers and sonographers can boost their skills, and gain the edge in their careers with this innovative new course from School of Radiography and St George's National Breast Education Centre.

Presented by Angela Bradshaw, author of the acclaimed book ‘Be in Balance', the course provides an up-to-date introduction to ergonomics, the Alexander technique and self-care skills.

The course will cover:

  • Anatomy refresher
  • Create your own personal coordination plan
  • Body mapping - mammography or sonography specific (sitting or standing to position/scan, equipment use, lifting, working in confined spaces, obese patients etc)
  • How to organise clear thinking
  • How to have more patience with your patients
  • How to set up optimal conditions in your own self
  • Q&A session to get tailored advice from the experts
