About Mandy

Mandy Ure joined Kingston School of Art in November 2015 as Head of Department for Fine Art. Between January and June 2019 she was also Acting Head of School of Art and Architecture. Her previous substantive role was Head of the School of Art and Design at University of the West of England, Bristol. In this role she led a large portfolio of courses across Art and Design disciplines and oversaw the redevelopment of city campus sites. 

Mandy studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee. She is an artist and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She is part of the We Are Publication (WAP) group at KSA and in the last three years has fostered international postgraduate research links for students and staff.

Responsibilities and portfolio areas

Mandy is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and has responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of Kingston School of Art.  She is responsible for the strategic, financial and operational oversight of the Faculty in line with University strategic priorities. Academic provision in the Faculty includes Art, Design, Creative Industries, Performing Arts and Humanities subject areas. She works closely with the Associate Deans of Learning and Teaching and of Research and with academic and technical staff Heads.
