From starring in a blockbuster movie to raising millions for charity and being honoured by Her Majesty the Queen, Kingston University's most eminent alumni have continued to go from strength to strength since we first launched Made in Kingston.
The Made in Kingston exhibition – Kingston's alumni wall of fame – has been created to recognise publicly the success of our high-flying alumni and to provide inspirational role models for our current and future generations of students.
The alumni represent the wide range of courses taught at Kingston for many years: engineering, art and design, architecture, surveying, business, accountancy, law and geology. The more recent graduates represent some of our newer courses, such as sports science and drama.
Some of our most famous alumni are household names; others are known mainly for the organisations they lead, by their peers in the professions, for enriching the quality of our lives and for contributing to the strength of our economy.
When we asked members of Made in Kingston what Kingston meant to them, some themes emerged: hard work, friends for life, intellectual challenge, excellent teachers, space to unleash creativity, training for the real world.
Our students remain at the heart of everything we do. Providing them with a world of possibilities is what we do best!
To the current and future generations of students, we hope you will be inspired to follow the example of these exceptional men and women who were 'Made in Kingston'.
To the members of the Made in Kingston, we offer our congratulations on your success and take pride in the small part we may have played in your achievements.
The Made in Kingston exhibition may be viewed in the John Galsworthy Building, Kingston University, Penrhyn Road campus, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2EE and also at Kingston Business School, Kingston Hill campus, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT2 7LB.
