Most of us would like to be remembered for something; to leave a mark on the world. Our alumni are talking about what matters to them and sharing their hopes on how they would like to continue to make a difference after they are gone.

That I have helped to make it easier for children to grasp learning to read and write Young people be given the opportunity to learn, rather than be taught. That I was a loving caring husband and father, who always thought about other people - one of the 'good guys' That I have inspired the next generation of engineers by leading them through change. That teaching becomes fun again An understanding that you are never too old to learn and that you can give back and stimulate society through education A kinder, gentler and peaceful world where there is no poverty, no war and no greed our use of the Earth's resources is sustainable for future generations. Academic enthusiasm: I am very pleased I invested my precious time with Kingston. Kingston gave me an academic enthusiasm to explore my professional skills in different directions. That I am remembered for always having helped people and organisations to reach their true potential! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... the whole world to become one world united race - no country or state, just one global earth country. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that I helped everyone who I know to understand who they really are, and helped them to become what they want to be. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... My art - my paintings. Firstly thanks for the reminder of my age! I just hope that the majority of the kids I taught benefitted enough to move them forward to maturity and success. I am now retired and despair of the reactionary trend in education from Tories – all privately educated. John C When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that the issues and work I've committed my life to, go from strength to strength, not just ending with the sharing out of my worldly goods amongst nieces, nephews and godchildren! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... the love of my family, friendships and Christian beliefs and virtues. To be remembered as a resilient friend who lived each day to the full. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... a contribution to the growth of the next generation, not just the plans on top of my grave! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... my daughters speaking to one another again. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that one day no-one else will suffer as I saw him suffer. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that all children of kindergarten age, under supervision of graduate teachers, are given considerable daily access to outdoor education enabling them to learn by experience, with freedom to discover alongside provision of sensory activity and language extension through instrumental work in music, poetry, story, son and drama. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... I have left you a legacy in memory of Doug Whitten and Emlyn Morgan. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... A help to future students studying art history in the arts faculty. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... I hope to become a major screenwriter and producer, creating some of the most culturally dynamic stories. Also to get my book on the best sellers list. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... I want to be remembered by my actions rather than by my words. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... my family. Whilst we can all make a difference to enhance the society in which we live it remains our genetic inheritance that will shape the future. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... of use to help someone achieve their research ambitions where they might otherwise have been unsuccessful through lack of money. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... recognised as a climate change activist; to be published by the UN and to work with multinationals in making sustainability a board issue; personally live and breath sustainability from my vegetarian diet to the way I conduct business with my FTSE 100 clients. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... some kind of organisational body set up to tackle bullying, and to have it recognised as the form of abuse that it is. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... for others who see an opportunity to be able to take it, make it and achieve something special! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that all children with disabilities are seen as equals of their able bodied friends, and offered the opportunity to shine like the stars in the sky. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that I ended third world debt! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be… between me and my maker. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... remembered as a character like those that Wilfred Hyde-White used to play. For those that do not know he played charming, erudite and egalitarian toffs. A gentleman but not a snob. See 'My Fair Lady' and 'North West Frontier'. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... to be remembered for a little while for what I have done for my family and friends, for conviviality (spiced with a degree of grumpiness - I am not a fan of Classic FM, I want all the movements not only the delicious adagios!), and for my poetry and essays which I hope will continue to be decipherable codes to self-awareness for their readers. Will the world be a better place? I don't think so, but a glimmer of light may shine and then fade over the ensuing years. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... by my writing and talking, to cause people to think and re-think, and bring about a higher consciousness. Have my god go with me (and meet Dave Allen in passing). When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that I am shot into space and become stardust, and all that I leave behind helps young people achieve their full potential! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that people who I have helped to be more confident and more successful than they ever thought they could be, do the same for other people when they come across them! When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that people in all professions and levels of society treat each other with respect and compassion, whatever their shortcomings. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... I want the spirit to flow from within. When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be... that those who love me feel lucky to have had me. And ready to have a great lift without me. And that they continue to support important causes because of what I taught them!
